Zolder
De afgelopen week hadden we voorjaarsvakantie. Eindelijk tijd om 'es wat te doen aan onze zolder. We waren dat al een tijd van plan maar steeds kwam 't er niet van met als gevolg dat de zolder aardig vol raakte. Eerlijk is eerlijk, echt leeg en opgeruimd is het er nog steeds niet maar we hebben een goed begin gemaakt. Ik kan eindelijk weer aan het bureau zitten werken en genieten van het uitzicht...
Last week we had spring break. Finally some time to start clearing up the attic. We had planned that for quite some a while but due to lack of time we didn't do anything and the attic became really stuffed. To be honest, it's not really empty and organized yet but we made a good start. I can work at my desk again and enjoy the view...

Sinds ik een telefoon met camera heb maak ik ontzettend veel foto's. Natuurlijk veel thuis, voornamelijk van m'n kinderen, maar ook 'onderweg' schiet ik aardig wat plaatjes. Soms minder dan ik zou willen omdat ik niet overal durf te fotograferen (in winkels bijv. ...). Op m'n telefoon heb ik ook een paar fotobewerkingsapps waarvan Instagram absoluut favoriet is. Leuk om op een eenvoudige manier je foto's te bewerken! Het leuke van Instagram vind ik dat je ook mee kunt genieten van de foto's die anderen maken en daar inspiratie uit op kunt doen. Veel bloggers hebben ook een Instagram account, een mooie aanvulling op hun blog.

Since I've had a phone with camera I take many photos. Of course a lot at home, most of the time of my children, but also when I'm 'on the go' I take quite a lot of pictures. Sometimes less than I would like to because I'm a bit scared to take pictures in shops for example... I also have a few photo editing apps on my phone of which Instagram is my favourite. I really like to edit my pictures in such a simple way! Another aspect of Instagram that I like is the fact that you can enjoy other people's pictures as well and find inspiration in those pictures. Many bloggers also have an Instagram account, a nice addition to their blogs.

at home
In ons huis vind je een mix van oude en nieuwe meubels. Een jaar of vier geleden kochten we via Marktplaats deze oude lessenaar. Op de lessenaar liggen de gezamenlijke agenda en een notitieblokje en sinds kort staat de prachtige houten pennenhouder van simpel&leuk er ook op. Momenteel hangt er 'kunst' van E. boven maar we hebben er ook wel 'es een mooie foto van Central Park hangen (souvenir uit New York) of een oude kaart van onze woonplaats.
In our house you find a mix of old and new furniture. About four years ago we bought this old lectern via Marktplaats (Dutch eBay). Our family diary and a notepad are on it and since a few weeks the beautiful wooden pen holder from simpel&leuk has been on it as well. Above the lectern there's 'art' made by E. but sometimes we put up a beautiful picture of Central Park (souvenir from New York) or an old map of our town.

Winter part 2
Ineens begon 't weer te sneeuwen donderdagavond. Heel even ben ik naar buiten gegaan en maakte ik een paar foto's in de tuin. In 't najaar snoei ik niet zoveel omdat ik het zo mooi vind als er sneeuw op uitgebloeide bloemen en planten ligt, zoals op de foto's op herfstanemoon.
Suddenly it started snowing again last Thursday night. I went outside for a few minutes to take some photos. I don't trim a lot of plants in autumn because I love it when there's snow on overblown flowers and plants, like on the anemone in the pictures.

Oranje
Vorige week maakte koningin Beatrix bekend dat ze eind april afstand doet van de troon en plaats maakt voor haar opvolger, Prins Willem-Alexander. Aangezien oranje de kleur van ons koningshuis is zullen we de komende tijd ongetwijfeld allerlei oranje accessoires en versieringen tegenkomen in de winkels. Oranje is niet echt mijn kleur. Ik heb een oranje shirtje dat ik (soms) draag bij wedstrijden van het Nederlands elftal (maar eigenlijk alleen als we de wedstrijd in de kroeg kijken) en daar blijft 't ook wel bij. Oranje vind je ook niet in mijn interieur, het is gewoon mijn kleur niet. Toen ik op Pinterest ging kijken naar oranje beeld zag ik toch wel wat aardigs voorbij komen... Mijn favorieten zijn de kroonluchter en de trap met oranje loper.

Since orange is the colour of our royal family we will probably see a lot of orange accessories and decorations in the stores the coming months. Orange is not really my colour. I have one orange shirt which I (sometimes) wear when watching a match of the Dutch soccer team (but only when we watch the match in the pub) and that is it. Orange isn't a colour you'll find in my house, it's just not my cup of tea ;) When I started to look for orange images on Pinterest I did find some nice ones... My favourites are the chandelier and the stairs with the orange carpet.
