Instagram

Sinds ik een telefoon met camera heb maak ik ontzettend veel foto's. Natuurlijk veel thuis, voornamelijk van m'n kinderen, maar ook 'onderweg' schiet ik aardig wat plaatjes. Soms minder dan ik zou willen omdat ik niet overal durf te fotograferen (in winkels bijv. ...). Op m'n telefoon heb ik ook een paar fotobewerkingsapps waarvan Instagram absoluut favoriet is. Leuk om op een eenvoudige manier je foto's te bewerken! Het leuke van Instagram vind ik dat je ook mee kunt genieten van de foto's die anderen maken en daar inspiratie uit op kunt doen. Veel bloggers hebben ook een Instagram account, een mooie aanvulling op hun blog.

Since I've had a phone with camera I take many photos. Of course a lot at home, most of the time of my children, but also when I'm 'on the go' I take quite a lot of pictures. Sometimes less than I would like to because I'm a bit scared to take pictures in shops for example... I also have a few photo editing apps on my phone of which Instagram is my favourite. I really like to edit my pictures in such a simple way! Another aspect of Instagram that I like is the fact that you can enjoy other people's pictures as well and find inspiration in those pictures. Many bloggers also have an Instagram account, a nice addition to their blogs.

Creasint

Een briljant idee ontstaan uit frustratie, zo zou je Creasint kunnen omschrijven. Het lukte Imke van de blog lovejohnny niet om met vrienden een sintfeestje te organiseren en deed daarom op Twitter een oproep voor een alternatief Sinterklaasfeest: Creasint. Meer dan 40 mensen meldden zich aan, stuurden hun adres en een korte beschrijving van zichzelf, Imke (en haar man!) zorgden ervoor dat iedereen een lootje kreeg (verstuurd in door Imke zelf gemaakte enveloppen).
Ik kreeg het lootje van Babette (en later bleek, zij de mijne - toevallig!). Omdat ik zelf niet echt creatief ben heb ik mijn kadootjes voor Babette bij elkaar geshopt en gelukkig is ze er blij mee! Ook Babette heeft mooie dingen voor mij geshopt. Ze heeft mijn blog gelezen en zocht dingen uit die echt bij mij passen :) Gisteravond om negen uur mochten we eindelijk de pakjes openmaken. Op de foto's zie je mijn kadootjes! Nogmaals bedankt, Babette! En ook Imke bedankt voor dit leuke idee :))

A brilliant idea born out of frustration, that's a way to describe Creasint. Imke (from lovejohnny) wanted to organise a Sinterklaas party with friends but that didn't really work out. She asked her followers on Twitter if anyone was interested to celebrate an alternative version of Sinterklaas and Creasint was born. More than 40 people wanted to join, sent their addresses and a short description of themselves  to Imke, Imke (and her husband!) made sure that everyone got a 'candidate' (sent in envelopes Imke made herself).
I had to make/buy presents for Babette (and later it turned out she had got my name - what a coincidence!). Because I am not really a creative person I bought my presents for Babette and luckily she is very happy with them! Babette also bought me very nice presents. She'd read my blog and found things that really suit me :) Last night at nine we could finally open our gifts. On the pictures you can see my gifts. Thanks again, Babette! And thank you Imke for this great idea :))

Happy (mail) day!

Wat een fijne dag vandaag! Gisteravond laat liet Desiree van Vosgesparis me weten dat ik een van de winnaars ben van haar Selby giveaway! Ik heb een setje magneetjes gewonnen – ben erg benieuwd! Na een gezellige ochtend koffie drinken bij een vriendin kwam ik thuis en bleek mijn bestelling van Stoerinstyle gearriveerd! Gister schreef ik hier al over het mooie Bloomingville windlichtje en nu staat ‘ie bij mij in de kamer ‘mooi te zijn’ (heb de foto van gister vervangen door een bij mij thuis…). Ook bestelde ik mooie kerst masking tape van Bloomingville. Silvana verkoopt mooie dingen in haar webshop en je krijgt je bestelling mooi verpakt thuis J

En toen kwam de post… Maar liefst drie leuke dingen zaten erbij. Gelijk viel de bijzondere envelop van Imke op met daarin mijn lootje voor Creasint. Spannend maar vooral ook erg leuk. Een grote envelop kwam van Stephanie. Een poosje geleden werd ik de 100e volger van haar blog, Interieur Coosje, en won daarmee een geweldige giveaway. Stephanie stuurde me maar liefst drie kadootjes! Ik kreeg een mooie kussenhoes van House Doctor, een allerliefst magneetje van een uil en 101 Woonideeën. Ook deed ze er een lieve kaart bij. Van 100 volgers kan ik als nieuwe blogger alleen maar dromen maar als ik (ooit) een mooi aantal haal ga ik ook zulke fijne kadootjes weggeven.
Vorige week schreef ik over Movember en de leuke snorretjes die Heleen van Studio vanDD maakt en uiteraard bestelde ik ze zelf ook. De snorretjes kwamen vandaag ook en zijn echt superleuk!

Today was a great day! Late last night Desiree of Vosgesparis told me that I was one of the winners of her Selby giveaway! I won the fridge magnets and I’m very curious what they look like. This morning I visited a friend and when I came home my order of Stoerinstyle had arrived! Yesterday I wrote here about the beautiful Bloomingville light and now it’s in my living room ‘simply being beautiful’ (I replaced yesterday’s photo with one I made today…).  I also ordered Bloomingville Christmas masking tape. Silvana sells beautiful products in her webshop and she wraps them beautifully J

And then the mail arrived… Three nice things were in it! Immediately Imke’s special envelope caught my eye, in it I found my Creasint ticket. Exciting but also a fun thing to do. A large envelope came from Stephanie. A while ago I became the 100th follower of her blog, Interieur Coosje, and won a great giveaway. Stephanie sent me three presents! I got a beautiful cushion cover by House Doctor, a sweet owl magnet and ‘101 Woonideeën’ magazine. She also added a sweet card. I can only dream of having 100 followers since I've only just started but if I (ever) have a nice number of followers I’m going to give away nice presents as well. Last week I wrote about Movember and the fun moustaches Heleen of Studio vanDD makes and of course I ordered them too. They also arrived today and they’re very nice!

Deze week...

werd ik erg blij van mijn nieuwe ketting die ik bestelde bij Sonja van bySoos.

werd ik verliefd op een mooie, oude VW pickup die als 'decoratie' in de plaatselijke Intratuin stond.

genoten we tussen de buien door van de herfstzon!

ontdekte ik een nieuw Brits tijdschrift waarover later meer...

This week...

I was very happy when my new necklace arrived, which I ordered from Sonja (bySoos).

I fell in love with a beautiful, old VW pick-up which was part of the decoration in our local garden center.

we enjoyed the autumn sun in between showers!

I discovered a new British magazine about which I am going to write more in one of my next posts...

Deze week...

was het kerstboompje in de tuin al in Halloween-stemming ;)

heb ik (eindelijk!) een Pinterest account aangemaakt (en nu al verslaafd!)

verzamelde ik verschillende kleurstaaltjes om een kleur te kiezen voor mijn secretaire-kastje

Home sweet home #4

In ons huis vind je een mix van oude en nieuwe meubels. Zo hebben we bij onze eettafel Eames stoelen gecombineerd met een oude, houten klepbank (maar dat laat ik wel in een andere Home sweet home zien...). Vandaag een kijkje in de het kamertje van baby B.

We maakten een commode van een oud kastje. Het kastje, met mooie oude porseleinen knopjes, kochten we bij Anneke Hof van Huys en Hof en was al geverfd in een mooie grijze tint (Farrow&Ball Plummet 272). Omdat het kastje niet zo diep is maakte mijn man er een soort van werkblad op dat ik heb bekleed met gecoat tafellinnen. 


In our home we have both old and new pieces of furniture. We combined our diningtable with Eames chairs and an old wooden bench (but I will show that in a future Home sweet home post...). Today a look in baby B's room.

We made a dresser from an old small cabinet. We bought the cabinet, which has beautiful china knobs, from Anneke Hof of 'Huys en Hof' and it had already been painted in a nice grey colour (Farrow&Ball Plummet 272). Because we wanted more 'workspace' my husband attached some sort of worktop on it which I covered with coated table linnen.

keek ik naar de halve finale van The Great British Bake Off (dat betekent dat de aflevering van volgende week de laatste van deze serie is... )

This week

I enjoyed the beautiful autumn weather, the colours of autumn and mushrooms in different shapes and sizes...

I tried three recipes from Allerhande, the free magazine of Albert Heijn ,one of the leading supermarket chains in The Netherlands  (ham and leek gratin, potato curry with chicken and cauliflower & veggie sheperd's pie)

I bought a book with my little girl because of 'Kinderboekenweek' (an annual event in The Netherlands in which children's books are celebrated , all kinds of activities related to children's books and reading are being organised by libraries, schools and bookshops)

I started with Holly Becker's BYW Bootcamp

I watched the semi-finals of The Great British Bake Off (which means next week's episode is the last in this series... )

Home sweet home #3

Momenteel is het nogal blauw bij ons in de woonkamer. Aan blauwe linten hangen tientallen blauwe kaarten... gelukwensen voor de geboorte van onze zoon (en broer van ons peutermeisje) ruim drie weken geleden. Vond 't wel aardig om het blauw eens in 'black and white' te zetten...

At the moment it's rather blue in our living room. Blue ribbons hold dozens of blue cards... wishes sent to us on the occasion of our son's birth (and our toddler girl's brother) about three weeks ago. I liked the idea of turning the blue into 'black and white'...
