Christmas inspiration #12

Drie jaar geleden waren R. & ik met kerst in New York. We kwamen aan in een blizzard, deden er uren over om van JFK airport naar het hotel te rijden maar wat was het mooi, al die sneeuw!
Het was een bijzondere kerst, niet alleen omdat we in NY waren maar ook omdat ik zwanger was van E. Uiteraard misten we de gezelligheid met familie en vrienden maar het had ook wel wat om op Eerste Kerstdag naar een basketbalwedstrijd te gaan en te ontdekken dat op Tweede Kerstdag de opruiming begint ;) Overal in de stad waren er versieringen, die in Little Italy waren de meest uitbundige. Op straat kon je kerstbomen kopen, wij kochten een Charlie Brown Christmas tree voor op onze hotelkamer.

Three years ago R. & I spent Christmas in New York. When we arrived there was a blizzard, it took hours to go from JFK airport to our hotel but it was beautiful, snow everywhere!
It was a special Christmas, not only because we were in NY but also because I was pregnant with E. Of course we missed being with friends and family but it was special to go to a basketball game on Christmas day and to find out that the big SALE started on December 26 ;) There were all kinds of decorations througout the city, those in Little Italy the most exuberant. You could buy Christmas trees everywhere, we bought a Charlie Brown Christmas tree for our hotelroom.

Christmas inspiration #10

Deze week had ik ze met E. willen bakken, kerstkoekjes. Helaas is E. grieperig en wil ze niet eens een snoepje (!) dus van koekjes bakken kwam het ook niet... Misschien dit weekend nog. Anyway, wat mij betreft wel een echte kerst musthave, kerstkoekjes!

This week I wanted to bake them with E., Christmas cookies. Unfortunately E. is a bit under the weather and she doesn't even want sweets (!) so no baking for us... Maybe we can still have a go at it this weekend. Anyway, I think they're a real Christmas musthave, Christmas cookies!

Christmas inspiration #8

Helemaal van nu, een neon-kleurig accent in je interieur. En dat kan natuurlijk ook met kerst. Omdat roze een van mijn favoriete kleuren is, koos ik voor neon-roze kerstaccessoires!

At the moment you can see a lot of neon accents in interiors. And of course you can use neon for Christmas too. Pink is one of my favourite colours and therefore I chose neon pink Christmas accessories!

Krans

De krans die sinds gister bij ons op de deur hangt is simpel en stoer. De krans kocht ik bij Albert Heijn, de hangertjes waarmee ik de krans versierd heb zijn van ensuus.nl. Suzanne van &SUUS opende een paar dagen geleden haar eigen etsy shop waar ze niet alleen deze mooie hangers maar ook nog andere mooie accessoires verkoopt zoals houten huisjes en boomstammetjes die je bijvoorbeeld als bijzettafeltje kunt gebruiken.

The wreath which I put up yesterday is simple and bold. I bought the wreath at our local Albert Heijn (one of the biggest Dutch grocery chains), the hangers I used to decorate it with are from ensuus.nl. Suzanne of the blog &SUUS opened her own etsy shop a couple of days ago. In it she doesn't only sell these beautiful hangers but also other accessories like wooden houses and small trunks which you can use as a table, for example.
